The issue of hospitalization of Zarema Musaeva, who was forcibly removed from Nizhny Novgorod, has not yet been resolved. This was reported by the “Team Against Torture”*.

Let us recall that in January 2022, the 52-year-old wife of former federal judge Saidi Yangulbaev was forcibly taken to Chechnya. The woman spent more than a year and a half in a Chechen pre-trial detention center, despite type 2 diabetes and deteriorating health. In July last year, she was sentenced to 5.5 years in a general regime colony under articles of fraud (Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and the use of violence against a police officer (Article 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Later, the court commuted the sentence by six months, changed the category of crime severity to medium and replaced serving the sentence with a penal colony. At the end of 2023, the court denied Zarema Musayeva parole, but commuted the sentence by three months.

Since March, the woman has been complaining of severe pain in her legs. In April, an ambulance was already called for her. Despite this, the medical commission considered that the prisoner did not have any diseases that would prevent her from staying in the colony.

On April 25, information appeared in the media that the woman was hospitalized. Her lawyer Alexander Savin did not confirm these reports, saying that Zarema Musaeva is still in prison. The issue of planned hospitalization, according to the “Team Against Torture”*, is indeed being discussed, but there is no talk of urgent hospitalization.

I have been dealing with the topic of treatment, necessary examination and hospitalization for a month now. After an appeal to the head of the Federal Penitentiary Service of the Russian Federation for the Chechen Republic, there was obvious progress,” said Alexander Savin.

Earlier it was reported that a protocol on discrediting the Russian Armed Forces was drawn up against a blogger from Dzerzhinsk.
