On his Facebook page, political scientist Abbas Gallyamov writes that he does not believe the official justification for the accusation:
“A charming story illustrating their morals. Firstly, corruption per se is not a crime at all in Putin’s eyes. If this is corruption from the one who needs it – from the one for whom a member of Putin’s informal Politburo stands up – then everything is ok. Well, it’s absolutely remarkable that their spy mania has reached such proportions there that they are beginning to suspect their own people of it. When these fools shouted about the fact that ’37 is needed, they were warned that ’37 would come not only to the oppositionists, but also to themselves. They didn’t believe it. Well, get your signature: ‘Did you go on vacation to Lazurka? All clear! French spy!’”
