Nizhny Novgorod theaters and creative groups will perform in Bukhara

Nizhny Novgorod theatres, museums, libraries, art schools and creative groups will take part in the Days of Nizhny Novgorod in Bukhara, the start of which was announced by Mayor Yuri Shalabaev on social networks.

The head of the department of culture, Svetlana Gulyaeva, noted that in Bukhara, Nizhny Novgorod culture will be represented by the Nizhny Novgorod chamber choir, the Stepanov chamber musical theater, the Lyubava folk song ensemble, the State Gorky Museum, the Dostoevsky model library and leading teachers of the Children’s Art School.

There is a task from the head of the city to introduce the sister city to our culture, to present Nizhny Novgorod brightly, on a large scale and at a high professional level, as befits the Cultural Capital of Russia,” Gulyaeva emphasized.

Nizhny Novgorod residents are bringing to Bukhara a carefully selected program and groups that are well known not only in the city, but also far beyond its borders. In addition, in such meetings the mutual exchange of experience, ideas and creative developments is extremely important, says the head of the city department of culture.

We are glad that we will have the opportunity to communicate with colleagues. The visit program includes visits to a library, theater and art school. It is no coincidence that the cultural program of the visit is called “Interweaving of Cultures. Unity,” she added.

The opening ceremony of the Days of Nizhny Novgorod on Shakhristan Square will be attended by the Lyubava Folk Song Ensemble and the Nizhny Novgorod Chamber Choir. In addition, each of these groups has concerts planned.

The folk song ensemble “Lyubava” will traditionally perform folk works, both authentic and processed; the program “On the Broad Volga” includes the song heritage of the Nizhny Novgorod region, for example, “Nizhny Novgorod Dance” and “Vetluzh Ditties”. And the chamber choir “Nizhny Novgorod” will present the concert program “Nizhny Novgorod Composers”. Among the authors are Mily Balakirev, Lev Sivukhin and Eduard Fertelmeister. Also, the chamber choir will perform folk songs in adaptation and famous Soviet and modern songs.

Two classic examples of Soviet musical theater – the musical comedy “Woman’s Riot” and the musical “Truffaldino” – will be shown at the Bukhara Regional Theater of Musical Drama and Comedy by artists of the Stepanov Chamber Musical Theater.

The key areas of activity of modern Nizhny Novgorod libraries, work not only with paper books, but also with electronic books, creative and software-project activities, will become the subject of dialogue between the library community of Nizhny Novgorod and Bukhara in the Regional Library named after Abu Ali ibn Sina.

A series of musical and artistic educational lectures and master classes for students and teachers of Bukhara schools at the Bukhara City Music and Art School No. 1 will be conducted by teachers from children’s art schools in Nizhny Novgorod. Master classes on decorative and applied arts, choreography, vocals, as well as a round table as part of the exchange of experience are planned.

Previously, Mayor Yuri Shalabaev said that the capital of the Volga region continues to develop ties with Central Asia, where interest in Russia has never been higher.
