Novosibirsk residents were invited to the spring planting of apple trees. On April 27, the first five seedlings will decorate the space near house No. 38 on Vladimir Zarovny Street in the European Coast microdistrict. Those who want to help with landscaping the yard are welcome at 11:00.

Young apple trees will grow in Novosibirsk thanks to the “Plant a Tree” project. The environmental initiative belongs to the Zhiznmart chain of stores, in which all profits from the sale of plastic bags are annually used to purchase seedlings. Apple trees were not chosen by chance, but due to their high survival rate in an urban environment and beautiful flowering in the spring.
The retailer, together with Novosibirsk residents, will plant another 33 trees in the courtyards of houses No. 154 on 2nd Obskaya Street, No. 31 on Krasny Prospekt, No. 51 on Voennaya Street, No. 7 on Vavilova Street. Dates and times depend on weather conditions, however, the authors of the project hope to complete the work by the end of May.
The planting of about 400 trees was also planned in other cities where the retail chain operates – in Yekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk, Tyumen, Perm, Ufa. The sites for the action will be not only the courtyards of residential buildings, but also the territories of kindergartens, schools and other institutions. The organizers believe that greening spaces through the sale of bags helps draw attention to the problem of the proliferation of plastic in the modern world.
On the eve of Victory Day, a “Memory Garden” of 2,400 shrubs will appear in Novosibirsk.
