Today, April 25, parliamentarians from all over the country gathered in St. Petersburg. The Council of Legislators opened in the Northern capital. This was reported by the press service of the State Duma.

“The Council will be chaired by the co-chairs of the Council of Legislators – Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin and Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko. On April 26, the meeting will be held at the Tauride Palace,” the message says.

On the first day, representatives of the regions signed more than 20 cooperation agreements. We are talking about trade, tourism and other areas. Particular attention today was paid to representatives of new regions. Integration into Russian legislation is currently ongoing there.

Also on the first day, a number of round tables were held on priority legislative initiatives. Sachs Chairman Alexander Belsky, together with other participants, discussed the development of means of individual mobility. This often becomes a problem in large cities. Senator Andrei Klishas has developed a document that implies administrative liability for owners of electric scooters and bicycles for violating traffic rules and leaving the scene of an accident.

“Unfortunately, the infrastructure of even such a modern city as Moscow or St. Petersburg, unfortunately, is not prepared to make this safe for all road users. Even if Moscow and St. Petersburg want to create a miracle, such infrastructure will not appear tomorrow,” said Andrei Klishas, Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Constitutional Legislation and State Building.

Earlier, the St. Petersburg Diary reported that on Friday, April 26, Russian President Vladimir Putin will speak at the Council of Legislators. Read more here.
