A study by the Foundation for the Development of Civil Society (FORGO) identified 35 regions of Russia with the strongest economies, reports Federal Business Journal. The results were obtained by analyzing data from Rosstat, the Ministry of Finance, the Federal Tax Service and the Federal Treasury.

The results are based on economic (5 criteria) and socio-economic (4 criteria) ratings of regions of the Russian Federation. The final table includes such indicators as the ratio of the minimum cost of living to the average salary, the industrial production index, products sold per capita and others.

Among the 35 leaders, almost a third are regions of the Central Federal District (CFD). The first five positions were occupied by Moscow, Tula, Moscow, Kursk and Tver regions, which demonstrated high economic results last year.

The Vladimir region took 31st place out of 35. As we can understand, the region is in the lead “from the end”. Unfortunately, the region did not become a leader either in terms of nominal average wages, or in terms of the production index, or in terms of the ratio of regional product per capita. Let’s hope that next year the region will be able to catch up and not stand “in the middle,” but confidently move forward.

Earlier, Vladimir News reported that the Vladimir region was in the middle among its neighbors and regions of the Central Federal District in terms of quality of life. The Vladimir region took 34th place among regions in 2023. In 2022, the region was two positions lower. However, in comparison with neighboring regions and in the ranking of regions of the Central Federal District, the Vladimir region found itself in the “middle peasants”.

However, at the end of 2023, Vladimir transport took 18th place out of 100 in the ranking. Experts assessed the price (74 points) and physical (73 points) accessibility of transport, comfort and convenience (73 points), functionality of the transport network (55 points) and safety (46 points). The rating has been compiled for the fourth year and during this time Vladimir jumped from 41st to 18th place. Meanwhile, residents say that the transport situation is only getting worse from year to year.
