In the summer of 2024, rescuers in St. Petersburg will pay special attention to water recreation

A meeting of the commission for the prevention and liquidation of emergency situations and ensuring fire safety was held in Smolny with the Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov. In the coming summer season, rescuers will pay special attention to water recreation and children’s health campaigns. This was reported by the press service of the city administration.

The head of the city noted that in the summer lakes, rivers and the bay are favorite vacation spots for St. Petersburg residents. At the same time, vacationers often swim in the wrong places, and there is also a manifestation of poor behavior on the water, which leads to accidents. Until May 17, district heads will have to hold commission meetings and take measures for the safe recreation of people on the water, primarily children.

At the moment, ten country camps are being prepared for the summer season in St. Petersburg. Also, 204 camps will be opened at schools. In 2024, more than 3.5 billion rubles were allocated for these purposes. Vouchers will be provided free of charge or with partial payment.
