A representative of the Center for Arctic Initiatives under the St. Petersburg Committee for Arctic Affairs and a senator from the Komi Republic held a meeting at which they discussed the issues of attracting young specialists in creative professions to the Arctic regions. This was reported by the press service of the St. Petersburg Committee for Arctic Affairs.

The director of the Open Workshop theater, Artur Zhuravlev, said that thanks to the support of the Committee for Arctic Affairs, they created the theater laboratory “Ethnotheater Workshop” at the Academic Drama Theater named after. V. Savina in Syktyvkar.

“The results were not long in coming: we constantly receive offers about the readiness of directors, artists, actors to go to work from St. Petersburg to the North, and someone has already received an offer of employment and their premiere of the play,” Zhuravlev noted.

One example was the invitation of young St. Petersburg artists to work on the play “Dovlatov. A novel of special purpose” in Syktyvkar. After the premiere, one of them received an offer to work in the theater.

Chairman of the Committee for Arctic Affairs German Shirokov emphasized that the quality of training of specialists in St. Petersburg and their motivation to work in difficult Arctic conditions allow them to be in demand, including in the creative field.

The Center for Arctic Initiatives was created to unite young representatives of scientific, educational, cultural and public organizations in order to develop the Arctic zone of Russia and increase the role of St. Petersburg in this.

Earlier, St. Petersburg residents spoke about their future career and the Arctic.
