An Azerbaijani convinced his drinking buddies to sell an apartment in Moscow and killed them: the jury announced the verdict – News from Tula and the region

On April 25, in the Tula Regional Court, a panel of jurors returned a guilty verdict to 46-year-old native of Azerbaijan Rafail Makhmudov. The man is accused of murder and robbery. This was reported by the press service of the regional prosecutor’s office.

In 2022, a “black realtor” ingratiated himself with a couple who abused alcohol. It was established that the attacker convinced a 52-year-old man to sell his apartment in Moscow and move to Suvorov with his partner.

According to the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee for the Tula Region, the deal took place in March 2023. The defendant in the case took the victim with the money to Suvorov, but on the way he took him into the forest and strangled him. The native of Azerbaijan took 8,550,000 rubles for himself, and doused the corpse of his drinking companion with flammable liquid and set it on fire.

The attacker decided that the 39-year-old partner of the deceased could contact law enforcement agencies. He made an appointment with the woman, took her to the forest and dealt with her in the same way. The bodies of the dead were found a few days later by passers-by. They reported the incident to law enforcement officers.

On March 8 last year, Makhmudov was detained in the Tula region. During the criminal investigation, the defendant’s bank account was seized. Previously, the Azerbaijani had already been tried for fraud. He stole property from disadvantaged citizens.

At present, sufficient evidence has been collected in the criminal case implicating the defendant in the crime. Based on the jury’s verdict, the court will sentence him. According to the press service of the Tula Regional Court, a meeting to make a procedural decision is scheduled for May 2.
