The Commission on Education, Culture and Science of the Legislative Assembly approved the list of candidates for the title “Honorary Citizen of St. Petersburg.”

The list included:

– Anatoly Gerasimov – pensioner, public figure; marked with numerous certificates and commendations, awarded the highest state and regional awards;

– David Goloshchekin – People’s Artist of the Russian Federation, founder and permanent leader of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic of Jazz Music;

– Vasily Shestakov – state, political, public and sports figure, Honored Trainer of the RSFSR, Master of Sports of Russia in judo, Master of Sports of Russia in Sambo, Honored Worker of Physical Culture of the Russian Federation;

– Tatyana Kazankina – three-time Olympic champion in athletics, member of the Olympic Council;

– Yuri Kormilitsin – Honored Engineer of Russia, designer of submarines, foreman of the St. Petersburg Maritime Assembly;

– Dmitry Granov – surgeon, transplantologist, specialist in the field of hepatology and treatment of malignant liver tumors, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation; author of more than 500 scientific papers, holder of nine patents and more than 20 copyright certificates;

– Eduard Aylamazyan is a Soviet and Russian medical scientist, specialist in the field of obstetrics and gynecology, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
