Preparations for fire season took place in Sosnogorsk

In Sosnogorsk, the preparedness of departments for emergency situations during natural fires was checked. The administration of the municipal district reports this.

A command post exercise was held in Sosnogorsk with the participation of representatives of the Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Komi Republic. The purpose of the exercise was to test the readiness of all departments in the region to respond to emergencies arising from forest fires.

The emergency commission meeting preliminary considered various scenarios for possible developments. However, only in practice were employees of the Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations able to evaluate the actions of the personnel of each unit.

According to legend, a forest fire spread to a populated area, resulting in casualties. During the exercise, all departments demonstrated well-coordinated teamwork. These planned exercises are timed to coincide with the upcoming fire season, which usually begins in early May in the northern part of Komi. It should be noted that the main cause of forest fires is careless human handling of fire.
