They are dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Nikolai Deryabin, the honored coach of the Russian Federation, who stood at the origins of the organization of this sport in our region and trained more than one generation of champions. Competition participants came from St. Petersburg, the Komi Republic, Perm and Krasnoyarsk territories, Vologda, Kaluga, Kirov, Moscow, and Tver regions. In total – about 120 people. This, the organizers note, is a big number: Nikolai Deryabin is known and respected in the country.

Nikolai Deryabin became interested in fire and rescue sports in the army. He returned to civilian life, worked as an ordinary firefighter, put out fires and saved people. In the early 80s, he organized the first fire and rescue sports team in the region. She has been training children and youth for over 40 years. He is also the mentor of the national youth team of the country. His son and daughter are associated with the Ministry of Emergency Situations. And the grandchildren themselves storm the heights with a ladder in their hands.

Nikolay Deryabin, competition judge, Honored Trainer of the Russian Federation:

“We have already hosted more than one hundred Russian champions and prize-winners. That is, at the same time I have my own, local, children, boys, girls, and the Russian national team as well. Champions. We are responsible for the entire country. I myself didn’t know that the competition was in my honor until they gave me a booklet. There were emotions – wow, let’s work!”

And the participants tried their best today. The task is to run to the wall in the minimum amount of time and climb to the height of the second floor, and even with a ladder in your hands. Her weight is more than 8 kilos. This sport requires not only good physical preparation, but also endurance and skill in solving problems in extreme conditions.

Egor Vinogradov, competition participant (Yaroslavl region):

“The preparation took quite a long time, about two months. There were a lot of tasks, the 100-meter race. There were new records, injuries and new emotions.”

Anastasia Borodova, competition participant (Tver region)

“It’s good to run a hundred, because we had a little trouble with the tower. We need to improve on the hundred!”

The program includes several stages: climbing an assault ladder, overcoming an obstacle course, a fire relay race and combat deployment. The competition is serious. Teams from different regions fought for victory. Among them are world champions and multiple Russian champions.

Vadim Andyamov, head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Yaroslavl region:

“This is the future of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations. Many of the participants in today’s competitions are ready to throw in their lot with our noble profession. Therefore, much attention is paid to our sport and we really hope that Yaroslavl athletes will join the ranks of the main directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Yaroslavl region.”

According to the results, the Yaroslavl team had one first, two second and 3rd places. And all – among girls. But each participant in the competition, even if he did not win, gained valuable experience. After all, this sport teaches speed of reaction, endurance, develops strength, and team spirit. Every second gained today can help save someone’s life in the future.
