Over the past 24 hours, nine residents of the Tula region contacted the police to report fraudulent activities. The victims of the attackers were citizens aged from 23 to 90 years. In total, the victims transferred 2 million 126 thousand rubles to the scammers.

Three Tula residents received phone calls from unknown persons, introduced themselves as employees of banks or law enforcement agencies, and, under various pretexts, were persuaded to transfer funds to the bank accounts or cell phone numbers they indicated. The amount of damage amounted to 849 thousand rubles.

So-called “contact” fraud continues to occur. So, 90 year old A pensioner from Tula received a phone call and was told that her niece had been in an accident, and that money was needed to resolve the consequences of the incident. The woman handed over 548 thousand rubles personally to the scammers’ courier.


62 year old a resident of Shchekino wanted to work on the Internet. However, the employers turned out to be scammers. The man lost 629 thousand rubles. I fell for the same scheme 30 year old cashier from Kireevsk and lost 30 thousand rubles.

Police officers are taking measures to identify the fraudsters and detain them. In a conversation with the police, all the victims said that they knew about this kind of fraud from the media.
