The vessels of the municipal fleet began duty on the Moscow River and Yauza with the opening of river navigation in the capital. They will remove debris and pollution from the water surface. This was reported by the press service of the Moscow Municipal Services Complex.

“With the opening of navigation in the capital, the vessels of the municipal fleet – tugboats, boats, floating cranes and waste collectors – took up duty. On a daily basis, they will collect garbage from the water surface, eliminate pollution, and remove silt sediment from water outlets. Thanks to the competent deployment of the fleet, the entire water area of the Moscow River and the navigable section of the Yauza within the Moscow Ring Road are under round-the-clock control,” noted Deputy Mayor of Moscow Pyotr Biryukov.

The fleet vessels were prepared in advance. In the autumn-winter period, a complex of repair and commissioning work was carried out on the vessels, inspection and repair of propulsion systems, pumping equipment and steering systems were organized.

Last season, utility vessels collected about 600 tons of floating debris, eliminated almost 100 pollution, and about 21 thousand tons of sand and soil were removed from the bottom.
