In total, seven people were included in the list; three applicants will be awarded the title.

The Commission on Education, Culture and Science of the Legislative Assembly approved the list of candidates for the title “Honorary Citizen of St. Petersburg.”

According to Evening St. Petersburg, it included seven people.

Anatoly Gerasimov – pensioner, public figure. In 1951, he began working at defense industry enterprises in Leningrad, in 1965 he moved to party work, and then to the executive directorate of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of St. Petersburg.

David Goloshchekin – People’s Artist of Russia, founder and permanent director of the Philharmonic of Jazz Music. In 1963, in Leningrad he founded his own jazz “Goloshchekin Ensemble”.

Vasily Shestakov – state, political, social and sports figure. Honored Trainer of the RSFSR, Master of Sports of Russia in judo, Master of Sports of Russia in Sambo, Honored Worker of Physical Culture of the Russian Federation.

Tatiana Kazankina – three-time Olympic champion in athletics, member of the Olympic Council. After completing her sports career, she switched to teaching at the Institute of Physical Culture named after. Lesgafta.

Yuri Kormilitsin – Honored Engineer of Russia, submarine designer, foreman of the St. Petersburg Maritime Assembly. He worked at the Rubin Central Design Bureau for more than 50 years and became the general designer of the enterprise.

Dmitry Granov – surgeon, transplantologist, specialist in the field of hepatology and treatment of malignant liver tumors, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation. Author of more than 500 scientific papers, holder of nine patents and more than two dozen copyright certificates.

Eduard Aylamazyan – medical scientist, specialist in the field of obstetrics and gynecology, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Under his leadership, perinatal medicine received intensive development, namely, prenatal diagnosis of congenital and hereditary diseases, fetal cardiology, nephrology, pharmacology and fetosurgery.

Let us note that the title “Honorary Citizen of St. Petersburg” is considered the city’s highest award. Awarded for outstanding contribution to the development of the Northern capital, science, art, spiritual and moral development of society. Three candidates from the list will be awarded the title. The decision will be made at a meeting of the Legislative Assembly.
