A Novosibirsk anti-corruption fighter was found guilty of accepting bribes. The Dzerzhinsky District Court of Novosibirsk found the former detective officer of the Department of Economic Security and Combating of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation “Novosibirsky” guilty of accepting bribes.

Former detective officer of the Department of Economic Security and Combating of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation “Novosibirsk” Aramis Aslanyan was found guilty of committing two crimes under paragraphs “a, b, c” of Part 5 of Art. 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Receipt by an official through an intermediary of a bribe in the form of money for illegal actions and for illegal inaction in favor of the bribe-giver and the persons represented by him, in a large amount, by a group of persons by prior conspiracy, with extortion of a bribe.”

It was established that from March 1 to March 31 and from December 1 to 2, 2022, a police officer and his colleagues from this unit of the internal affairs body twice received a bribe in the amount of 320,000 rubles and 200,000 rubles through an intermediary from an individual entrepreneur. Before taking the money, the police seized shoes that showed signs of counterfeiting from the dealer and demanded a reward for stopping the administrative proceedings. At first, the entrepreneur agreed to comply with the conditions and gave the money, but when the police officers repeated the already tried scheme, he complained to the law enforcement agencies, under whose control the transfer of funds was made. As a result, all members of the group were detained. Aslanyan agreed to cooperate with the investigation. The man provided information incriminating other officials. Law enforcement officials received information about other crimes. Seven criminal cases have been initiated, the press service of the courts of general jurisdiction of the Novosibirsk region reported. Based on the totality of crimes, the court sentenced the former OEBiPK employee to 4 years and 6 months of imprisonment with a fine of 800,000 rubles. The man will be deprived of the right to hold positions in the civil service in the law enforcement system of the Russian Federation for four years. He will also lose the special rank of “police lieutenant.” Aslanyan will serve his sentence in a maximum security penal colony. The verdict did not enter into legal force.
