A minibus driver from St. Petersburg behaved inhospitably and became a defendant in a criminal case. A citizen stole a wallet containing currency belonging to a guest from Southeast Asia.
According to the police headquarters, on April 24, a foreign tourist filed a complaint about the disappearance of his wallet. The man discovered his disappearance the day before while visiting a museum on Palace Embankment. According to him, there was not only money, but also an identity card and house keys. As the foreigner stated, the material damage amounted to 78.6 thousand rubles.
Video surveillance footage showed that a city visitor dropped his wallet as he got out of a black BMW on Palace Embankment. The driver of the minibus was nearby – he noticed the wallet and took it for himself. Apparently, he decided not to even try to find the owner.

As 47news reported, the true owner of the wallet is a young diplomat from Singapore. So, a 29-year-old man represents the government of an Asian country in New York.
The police quickly detained a 53-year-old man who took the wallet. According to 47news, he was released on his own recognizance. A criminal case has been initiated under the article “Theft”. He had not previously come to the attention of law enforcement agencies.
