The best journalists in the region were awarded in Volgograd

Today, April 25, at the RIAC site there was a solemn awarding ceremony for the winners of the regional journalistic competition “Information Genres”, organized by the Volgograd regional branch of the Union of Journalists and the Committee for the Affairs of Territorial Entities, Internal and Information Policy of the Volgograd Region.

The competition included three winners in the categories “Interview”, “Essay”, “Report”, and “News”.

– The competition was the highest. About 300 works were submitted for the competition, noted Vyacheslav Cherepakhin, Chairman of the Board of the Volgograd Regional Branch of the Union of Journalists.

Thus, the competition project turned out to be the most widespread in recent times. The jury of the competition project also included the master of Volgograd journalism Efim Shusterman, chairman of the commission for the development of the information community, media and mass communications of the Public Chamber of the Volgograd Region Vyacheslav Cherepakhin, editor-in-chief of the MTV channel Nikolay Korobov, Doctor of Philology, professor of the Department of Russian Philology and Journalism of Volgograd State University Alexander Mlechko , editor-in-chief of the regional newspaper “Borba” Elena Lomakina, chairman of the Volgograd Regional Duma Committee on Culture, Affairs of Nationalities and Cossacks, Issues of Public Associations, Religious Organizations and Information Policy Tatyana Bukhtina.

The jury faced a difficult choice to determine the best materials submitted to the competition.

– Our profession is changing day by day. Tools and publication formats are changing. Previously, journalism had completely different requirements and publication formats. Society is changing, so are we, and journalism is changing along with it,” noted Elena Lomakina.

Among the prize-winners and publications noted by the jury of the competition are “City News”, our colleagues from MTV, and a large number from regional and Volgograd publications. The full list of winners can be found here.

“It is obvious that today the media is a serious weapon,” noted Galina Zavgorodnyaya, deputy chairman of the committee on affairs of territorial entities, internal and information policy of the region. – Having modern tools in its arsenal, journalism has a huge impact on civil society and maintaining stability in it. I thank the Volgograd media community for uniting – this is how we continue to unite society together.
