Walk like that

Let us remind you that it recently became known that a new children’s ship in the center of the park will cost the budget 37.8 million rubles, and together with the project the amount of expenses exceeds 38.4 million. Note that even at current prices, the future site in the shape of a frigate will become one of the most expensive in the country.

Something similar to the Samodov project stands on Strelka in Nizhny Novgorod and is a plastic squalor, but it is almost 3 times cheaper and the Nizhny Novgorod gaming complex was built using business funds with the support of the Russian Orthodox Church.

Another alternative is located in St. Petersburg New Holland. There they built a real model of a ship under construction on a scale of 8:10, and inside they created a rope park and a bunch of other activities. Yes, there is an entrance fee (only 100 rubles per child), but the object is truly unique and refers to real history. If you recalculate the costs at the current exchange rate, it turns out that this pleasure cost only one and a half times more than Samodov’s.

The first place in the top ship sites is occupied by the pirate galleon “Polundra”, located on the territory of the Crimean hotel “MRIYA Resort&SPA”. Unfortunately, this pleasure is available only to guests of one of the most expensive hotels on the entire Black Sea coast, so it is difficult to classify it as an urban space.

In any case, Arkhangelsk exchanged the old standard plastic ship platform for a new one of the same standard, but made of the now fashionable wood and for a lot of money. We would not be surprised if, when drawing up the estimate, the words were again uttered that such objects attract certain mythical tourists, even though they are nothing unique.

However, children often played on the old ship, which means they will play on the new one too. On the other hand, such spending on the largest playground in the city looks strange, because across the road there is a real amusement park, where it is clearly more fun to spend time.

Added to the burden of the expensive playground was the repair of the fence around the entire park. We are ready to allocate another 10.5 million rubles for this matter.

What is interesting about this project is the opinion of an expert who checked the fence before repair. In short, the examination showed that the foundation of the fence is strong and has no deviations, the supporting pillars and gratings are also in perfect order – without deviations or distortions. The only problem is the cheap cladding, which was installed with violations of the technical process even during the construction of the fence.

The examination report contains only a couple of photos, one of which shows graffiti on top of porcelain tiles, and the second shows fallen tiles. Based on this evidence, the conclusion was drawn: “The cladding is in disrepair.”

Let’s dare to correct the expert. The word “emergency” somehow doesn’t quite suit this object.

A wooden house that has fallen off its stilts with a floor cracked in half is a house in disrepair. The right lane of Sovetskaya Street from the bridge to the intersection with Mayakovsky also deserves the term “emergency road.” The heating pipes that have been patched a hundred times, spreading like a web over Hydrolyzny, are also in emergency condition.

But for a couple of flying tiles, the “ownerless” characteristic is more suitable. Although, if Samodov had taken money for an “unattended” fence, he would probably not have looked so convincing, but for an “emergency fence in the city center” it would be a shame not to spend a dozen or two of the budget millions.

From the style of the children’s ship, one can understand that Samodov is clearly looking towards Moscow public spaces, but executes them with a provincial flavor. Remembering the story with his personal office, one gets the feeling that the “master” also has big problems with taste, so repairing the fence is literally an illustration of the capital’s meme about rearranging tiles.

For 10.5 million, the fence will be lined with the same stone again, only this time natural, to make it look richer. After living in a city where the main architectural achievements of recent times are shopping centers, our creators seem to have completely forgotten how to work with facades in any way other than walling everything up in glossy tiles. This is sad.

The old cladding will be knocked down and taken away, and a new one made of natural granite 10 millimeters thick will be glued in its place. Needless to say, any gopnik can leave a crack on a thin stone by simply throwing a bottle at it. That is, the service life of the updated fence will also be calculated in a matter of years?

The Soviet fence around the drama theater stood for decades and would have stood for as long if not for the zealous initiatives of the then managers.

Let us remember that the last fence was built only 13 years ago under Governor Mikhalchuk. Then the workers were in a hurry for the arrival of President Medvedev. Hence the jambs in the technical process. Today, a new important date looms on the horizon – the anniversary of Arkhangelsk. It would be ugly if, on the 440th anniversary of the city, which is only 2 months away, the main park of the regional capital appears in disrepair. Therefore, the plasterers will be rushed again and the work may once again end in emergency mode.

In addition to relaying tiles on the fence, the contract stipulates the relaying of paving stones on the path along Trinity Avenue on the inside of the park. The need for this action seems to be known only to Samodov. What’s wrong with that sidewalk? Is it really also an emergency?

By the way, the current director of the Drama Theater himself is the same brainchild of Mikhalchuk’s team as his fence. Now he feels like a theater master, receives high-ranking citizens who want to be the cultural elite, and writes books about himself.

Less than 15 years ago, he was an ordinary media businessman and, it seems, took with him the sense of beauty from his previous life. The whole city’s eyes widened at what the lions on the fountain were turned into, but Samodov was fine. The quiet park behind the theater is turning into a booth, and the director is all for it. The fountains in front of the main entrance and the fence look like a cheap shopping center – that’s okay too, we’ll get used to it.
