After Russian journalist Ksenia Sobchak became interested in the scandalous story of garbage disposal in Chelyabinsk along 40th Anniversary of Victory Street, the Chelyabinsk relocation operator announced the liquidation of a spontaneous landfill. This was reported to URA.RU by the press service of the Public Service Center (CSC).
“CKS ensured the liquidation of the spontaneous dump. At the same time, without proper arrangement of a compartment for the collection of bulky waste, which must have a solid base and fencing, the situation with littering of the adjacent territory may repeat itself,” URA.RU notes at the TsKS.
According to the registrar operator, the issues of establishing order, arranging MSW collection sites, as well as equipping them with the required number of tanks in multi-apartment housing fall under the authority of the management company (MC). At the container site at the address: Chelyabinsk, st. 40 Let Pobeda, 40A, six plastic containers have been installed for collecting solid municipal waste, but this number of garbage bins is not enough to service the adjacent residential area.
“According to regulations, one more container is required to completely cover the demand. The installation of waste bins in multi-apartment housing stock, in accordance with the law, is the area of responsibility of management organizations (MCs, HOAs or housing cooperatives). It is unknown why the management company servicing the housing stock does not install the missing CFB container,” said the press service of the registrar.
They added that waste removal from bins at this address is carried out in accordance with the schedule on a daily basis. At the same time, this site does not have a separate equipped place for collecting old furniture and used household appliances. Such waste belongs to a separate type of MSW – bulky waste (LW) and is removed by the regional operator according to a separate schedule using separate equipment. Due to the lack of a compartment for CGO, residents have to leave old sofas, cabinets and other household CGO near the tanks, which leads to clutter in the area.
Earlier, Sobchak wrote that every time a spontaneous landfill appears in Chelyabinsk on 40th Anniversary of Victory Street, it is accompanied by a scandal. According to the journalist, the department explained to residents that the regional central garbage disposal center is responsible for garbage removal, and the management company must clean up the territory. The management company, according to Sobchak, hastened to abdicate responsibility, and the CCS is underperforming.
