City deputies adopted a regulation on the Public Youth Chamber under the Tyumen City Duma. 36 Tyumen residents aged 18 to 35 will work in the youth parliament under the City Duma.

Deputies of the Tyumen City Duma adopted a regulation on the Public Youth Chamber under the city parliament. The decision to create it was made on April 25 at the seventh meeting of the Tyumen City Duma of the VIII convocation.

– About 37 million young citizens live in our country and most of them are residents of cities, – Chairman of the Tyumen City Duma Svetlana Ivanova explained the need to create a new public association. – About 120 thousand young people live in the capital city. We cannot help but think about interaction with young people, so we came up with the initiative to create a Public Youth Chamber under the City Duma.

Svetlana Vladimirovna recalled that the President of the Russian Federation, in his Address to the Federation Council, announced the preparation of a new project “Youth of Russia”, which will start this year. Deputies of the Tyumen City Duma also joined in the overall work. The decision to create a Public Youth Chamber under the City Duma is relevant and timely, the Chairman of Parliament is sure.

– We will form the Public Youth Chamber in this way – 15 youth representatives will be proposed by the Tyumen city administration, 15 representatives by the city duma, another 6 people will be proposed by party factions, – Svetlana Ivanova spoke about the mechanism for forming a public association. – This is how we will move when creating a youth chamber and, most importantly, with an understanding of how important it is today to have the opinion of young people to formulate tasks for the development of our city.

36 young citizens aged 18 to 35 will work in the Public Youth Chamber at the City Duma. When preparing age criteria, deputies of the City Duma studied a large number of documents and practices not only within the Ural Federal District, but also in other regions of the country. As a result, the people’s representatives decided that the age of members of the Public Youth Chamber should start at 18 years old, because it is from this age that a person can make decisions independently. According to the federal law “On Youth Policy”, the upper age limit for youth representatives is 35 years. This number – 36 public activists – was determined by the number of deputies of the Tyumen City Duma of the VIII convocation.

– Youth are our future, and in our country a large number of institutions have been created that allow young people to realize themselves, Tyumen is no exception, – the head of the city of Tyumen, Ruslan Kukharuk, is confident. – There are several institutes in the city that allow children to determine the current state and, most importantly, the future of our city. For example, young citizens help solve issues related to a comfortable urban environment.

Tyumen schoolchildren are actively involved in determining which parks and public gardens need to be improved in the regional capital. The Tyumen youth administration has been operating in the city for several years, to which creative, proactive and active young Tyumen residents send proposals and projects. Many of their ideas in Tyumen receive support and are successfully implemented. Such measures of interaction with young people are the key to the formation of a future management team, the head of the Tyumen city administration is sure.
