We made a choice and made the city cleaner. Less than a week remains until the end of voting for improvement projects that will be put in order in Kostroma as part of the Presidential national project “Housing and the Urban Environment”. The guys working in environmental groups also expressed their opinion. Moreover, they were able to take part in compiling the rating while cleaning two beaches – Central and Rechnoy Prospekt. Both territories are among the projects for which Kostroma residents vote.
Fourteen guys from the environmental team are making Kostroma streets cleaner. They work every day for two hours. Today the cleaning schedule includes the central beach along the street. Forest. Here schoolchildren collect plastic bottles, bags and candy wrappers. Immediately after cleaning, volunteers approach them and offer to vote for this or any other of the nine areas for improvement.
Anisiya Komissarova: “I voted for Central Beach because I really like this place. And I think it would be great if he were the one who won the vote, and he would be improved. Others should also take part in this, because in this way they can express their opinion, and perhaps their favorite walking area could benefit from being improved.”
Now Central Beach is the leader in the voting: more than 9,000 Kostroma residents chose it. About 100 volunteers are helping residents of the regional capital make their decision. They work in public places, educational organizations and labor collectives.
Ekaterina Barabash, volunteer: “First of all, it’s a feeling of being involved in something bigger, that is, you go out with the thought that you are doing a good deed, helping people make their choice and cast their vote for the territory they like. To make the city better. So that our city becomes more favorable and beautiful.”
The beach on Rechnoy Prospect now occupies third place in the ranking. About 6.5 thousand Kostroma residents voted for him. Another eco-team is cleaning up the area. The guys also made their choice. If they win, they plan to renovate the beach area in this area and equip a children’s playground and sports grounds.
Valeria Zubakova: “I love my city very much, I worry about it, I also actively go out to clean the city and take part in voting for improvement. I want him to become much better and develop.”
Voting for improvement projects will last another 5 days. More than 80 thousand residents of the region have already made their choice. And the guys from the environmental teams will continue to work. During the holidays, their operating hours will increase to 4 hours. Anyone between the ages of 14 and 18 can join them.
