The Chairman of the Kaliningrad regional branch of the Union of Architects of Russia, in an interview with RIA Baltic Plus, refused to comment on the topic of the future Russian Park in the city center. Igor Li explained this by saying that he had not yet seen the sketches. However, he shared his vision of the public territory on the site of the House of Soviets, which was dismantled by almost a third, and showed a visualization. Igor Li says:
“I was greatly impressed by the materials of the sociological study, which was conducted led by Lyudmila Sebrovskaya. They managed to use their own methods to derive a result from 2.5 thousand opinions of residents of the city and region. It was very interesting to find out what people want to see there and the most interesting thing is what they don’t want to see there. This is how a project proposal for this territory was born.”
Lee clarified that he had never participated in various competitions and workshops that were dedicated to the concept of the main square of Kaliningrad. He noted that “it did not fit into the understanding of what should be there.”
