Irina Chipenko’s exhibition “Hermit’s Tea” opened in Irkutsk

--

A personal exhibition of the impressionist artist has opened in the Irkutsk art gallery “Dias” (Sedova, 40) Irina Chipenko (Cheboksary). The exhibition will run from April 26 to June 4 (6+).

Irina Chipenko is a painter from the city of Cheboksary (Chuvash Republic). Member of the Union of Artists of Russia, member of the International Art Fund.

The main theme of the author’s work is flowers. Whether it is bouquets, water lilies on the water or garden flowers, the viewer guesses the floral arrangement in the blurred and flowing petals. It is only from the general feeling that the brushstrokes are collected into the overall picture, the gallery’s press service reports.

The artist works in the technique of oil painting, skillfully using a brush and palette knife, combining textured impasto strokes with light transparent registration.

Irina is a big fan of the Impressionists, whose influence we see in her works – a bright palette built on pure tones, and a variety of subtle color relationships achieved with bold, confident brushstrokes.

The vibration of the air seems to be felt in the paintings, and thanks to it, one gets the impression of an atmosphere and space in which the smooth silhouettes of bouquets, landscapes in a blurry haze and mysterious portraits of strangers live their lives.

Oil painting, imbued with the tenderness of romanticism and the brightness of impressionism performed by Irina Chipenko, is the author’s reverent attitude to the smallest details of his works and, in particular, their emotional component.

“And when the hermit drinks his tea, he looks at the chrysanthemums,” the organizers quote the Japanese haiku poet Matsuo Basho.

The gallery’s opening hours are from 10:00-19:00, Tue-Sun, Mon – closed. The paintings at the exhibition can be purchased.
