A meeting of widows of the Chernobyl disaster liquidators was held in Tambov

At the Tambov Center for Providing Additional Social Assistance Measures, a meeting was held with the widows of the liquidators of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident. In 2024, it will be 38 years since the Chernobyl accident.

In just five years, over 600,000 people took part in eliminating the consequences of the disaster, including 2,031 residents of the Tambov region. Today, 26 widows of liquidators live in the city.

“Our meeting has already become traditional. We have gathered here today to pay tribute to the victims of that disaster,” she said. Head of the Department of Social Work, Guardianship and Trusteeship of the City Administration Elena Grebenyuk.

During the meeting, the participants honored the memory of the deceased with a minute of silence, and also watched a concert program prepared by the Russian Romance ensemble.
