An athlete from Buryatia, Tamir Yeshinimaev, won the Russian freestyle wrestling championship among juniors under 21. This was reported to the Ministry of Sports of the Republic.

Earlier, Arig Us online said that Tamir reached the finals of the competition. The Buryat athlete fought for the gold medal with Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimov from the Stavropol Territory.

In the final match, Tamir defeated his opponent with a score of 10:5. The athletes competed in the weight category up to 74 kg.

The Buryat wrestler competed in a double competition – Trans-Baikal Territory / Republic of Buryatia. He trains with Bator Bazarov, Zhabkhalan Tsympilov and Bolot Bayaskhalanov.

Let us remind you that the tournament takes place from April 23 to 27 in the Chechen Republic. About 500 participants from different regions of the country came to Grozny to test their strength.
