This year, “Library Night” at TPU will be held as part of the year “Tomsk – University Library Capital”. Libraries of other Tomsk universities will join the event within the walls of the NTB: SibSMU, TSPU and TUSUR.
“Traditionally, some of the sites are prepared by Polytechnic student associations. The children will conduct master classes, chemical experiments, and games. Guests of the evening will enjoy many activities: performances, a lecture and a master class from the Tomsk anime and cosplay studio HOWL, an exhibition and master class “Aesthetics of scale” by the creative workshop Hunter’s Art Studio, a costume show and a photo shoot in ancient clothes, with swords and armor from the Historical Club reconstruction of Bulat,” notes Irina Safonova, head of the information technology and communications department of NTB TPU.
The lecture hall will operate non-stop at the Library Night site. Lectures will be given by the founder of the creative agency Street Vision, producer of street art and culture festivals Street Vision Ivan Larionov, local historian and creator of the artistic and educational project “Tomsk is the people!” Konstantin Cherenkov, culturologist and author of the festival of modern communication “Rech” Alexandra Sageeva, producer of the series “Social Networks” Artem Sageev and specialist in professional and business communication in two foreign languages Anastasia Karpova.
“This year a truly rich program awaits guests. Guests will be able to compete in a Dota2 tournament in 1×1 format, attend a reading from the university’s theater workshop and current actor of the Theater for Young Spectators Roman Kolbin, a quest and an excursion to the book depository, as well as a lecture in the department of rare books and book monuments about the unknown Mendeleev or a quiz about the culture of Russia . We want to show that the library is a place of knowledge and creativity, where everyone can find something to their liking,” the organizers add.
Drumming and dancing master classes from the SEVEN PM team, “Kaleidoscope” and the “Impulse” dance school will be held in the library lobby.
Among the guests of “Library Night” at Tomsk Polytechnic University there will be a lottery with prizes from the organizers and partners of the event.

The organizers of the event at Tomsk Polytechnic University were the Scientific and Technical Library of TPU, the libraries of the Greater University of Tomsk, the TPU Museum Complex, as well as student associations of the university: the volunteer organization “Lifestyle”, the Council of Elders, the Student Council of Curators, the Commission for the Quality of Education, the activists of the School of Energy Engineering , Center for Youth Science, student teams “Kaleidoscope” and “Vacation”.
The “Library Night” event takes place annually in libraries, bookstores and cultural centers of Russia. The organizers of the event are the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Russian State Library and the portal of cultural heritage and traditions of Russia “Culture.RF”.
