36 Tyumen residents aged 18 to 35 years will be able to join the Youth Chamber, which will begin work under the City Duma. The decision to create it was made by Tyumen deputies of the VIII convocation during the regular meeting on April 25.

Chairman of the Standing Committee on Social Development Elena Boyko told her colleagues that the chamber was being created with the goal of developing a unified approach to researching and solving youth problems, as well as interaction with deputies.

Deputy Andrei Potapov noted the high importance of such a tool as a factor in introducing young people into active social activities. As an example, he listed figures and administration workers who went through the school of youth parliamentarism.

Chairman of the Tyumen City Duma Svetlana Ivanova She recalled that currently about 120 thousand young Tyumen residents live in the regional center and it is extremely important to hear their opinions in order to solve problems.

“Therefore, we must be in dialogue with the younger generation, but the forms of this communication, in fact, can be very different. When making a decision, we studied positive practices, and not only within the Ural Federal District,” she added.
