Improvement of 29 territories in the Irkutsk region has begun

In the Irkutsk region, improvement of public and courtyard areas has begun as part of the federal project “Formation of a Comfortable Urban Environment” of the national project “Housing and Urban Environment”. Work began at 29 sites, IrkSib reported on Friday, April 26, citing the press service of the regional government.

“This year, 65 municipalities of various levels are participating in the federal project events in the Irkutsk region. It is planned to improve 82 courtyards of apartment buildings and 75 public spaces: squares, parks, squares, streets. The total amount of funding from the federal, regional and local budgets will be 1.9 billion rubles,” said Igor Kobzev, Governor of the Irkutsk Region.

All federal and regional subsidies have been distributed to municipalities, contractors have been identified, and municipal contracts and agreements have been concluded. Improvement activities have begun in Shelekhov, Angarsk, Bratsk, Taishet and a number of other municipalities. Workers are dismantling old landscaping elements, and equipment is being purchased for future updated spaces. The main work will be carried out depending on weather conditions: from May and during the summer period.

The main feature of the project “Formation of a Comfortable Urban Environment” is the direct participation of residents in the selection of areas for improvement. As Elena Ryabykh, head of the department of housing policy and strategic development of the Ministry of Housing Policy and Energy of the Irkutsk Region, explained, in small settlements public discussions are held at meetings and gatherings of citizens, through public hearings. In municipalities with a population of over 20 thousand people and in the city of Baikalsk, as a city of tourist importance, the selection of territories occurs through an All-Russian vote for new improvement facilities.

“In the Irkutsk region, 18 municipalities are participating in the All-Russian vote, 61 design projects have been submitted. Until April 30, 2024, residents can vote for the territory they like and determine what exactly will be improved in 2025,” reminded Elena Ryabykh.

Voting takes place on the website. You can participate in it from the age of 14. In addition, you can vote using the help of volunteers who work in municipalities participating in the All-Russian vote: the cities of Irkutsk, Angarsk, Bratsk, Nizhneudinsk, Baikalsk, Sayansk, Zima, Ust-Kut, Ust-Ilimsk, Zheleznogorsk-Ilimsky, Usolye-Sibirskoye, Taishet, Tulun, Cheremkhovo, Vikhorevka, Shelekhov, Markovsky and Khomutovsky municipalities.
