Residents of Novosibirsk have become some of the most read in Russia. However, they increasingly prefer audio and electronic books to traditional paper publications.
This was reported by Rossiyskaya Gazeta. Sales of e-books alone tripled in a year.
Novosibirsk also retains its leadership in terms of the number of bookstores. Together with the regional capital, the top book centers in the country include Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Makhachkala, Kazan, Yekaterinburg and Vladivostok.
Certain works, including classic ones, gain particular popularity among Novosibirsk residents after film adaptations. Siberians are also of great interest in books about financial literacy, motivation and self-care.
