AI often detects pathologies at early stages

In the coming years, Moscow plans to integrate AI into mainstream medical technologies. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said in his Telegram channel that modern digital technologies can really save lives and significantly improve the quality of medical care.

“Just 10–15 years ago, digitalization of healthcare was considered as an auxiliary technology for solving organizational problems – reducing queues to doctors, establishing control, putting things in order with documentation, and so on. All this, of course, is still relevant today. But that’s far from the main thing. The main thing is that modern digital technologies really save lives and radically improve the quality of treatment for people,” wrote the mayor of Moscow.

Sobyanin noted that this will allow all doctors in the capital to have digital assistants, and telemedicine will become common practice. Medical information will be processed and stored exclusively in digital format.

As Sobyanin notes, neural networks, by analyzing various medical images, can recognize 37 different diseases, including lung cancer, stroke, osteoporosis and others. The accuracy of such diagnostics exceeds 95%. Artificial intelligence often detects pathologies in the early stages, when doctors cannot yet do so.

The future plan is to integrate artificial intelligence as a core medical technology.
