Over 500 people took part in the sports relay race in the Traktorozavodsky district of Chelyabinsk

Despite the bad weather, the event brought together over 500 participants, including the best athletes representing their native region. During the competition they had to show their athletics abilities and compete for prizes.

The track and field relay race took place in the Victory Garden park in the Traktorozavodsky district of the city of Chelyabinsk on Wednesday, April 24, and was dedicated to the 79th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the district administration reports.

The contestants were greeted by the Deputy Head of the Traktorozavodsky District Tatyana Bukreeva and assistant to the deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Chelyabinsk region Mikhail Vidgof Olga Ustyugova.

“The opening parade of the relay was traditionally led by Sports Veterans of the Traktorozavodsky district. Despite the cloudy weather and light rain, the relay participants gathered at the start and showed excellent results. The relay has become a real celebration of sports and friendship,” – reports the district administration.

Among the women’s teams, the victory was won by participants from Multidisciplinary College “Institute of Sports, Tourism and Service” (MpKISTIS).
