Minister Alexey Nechaev named the main directions of road repairs in Chelyabinsk

The emphasis will be on intra-block passages.

In the current road season in Chelyabinsk, intra-block driveways will be actively repaired.

Alexey Nechaev, Minister of Roads and Transport of the Chelyabinsk Region, spoke about this at a press conference at the Granada Press media holding dedicated to the Road Breakthrough program in the Chelyabinsk region.

He noted that the region’s road fund this year amounts to 24.7 billion rubles. For example, in 2019 it was 14.4 billion rubles – in such a short period of time the figure increased by more than 10 billion rubles. This happened in connection with additional revenues from the federal budget, as well as the regional one, by decision of Governor Alexei Teksler.

“Due to such decisions, more attention is paid to roads and the road network. This year we plan to repair 800 kilometers of roads. Last year this figure was 740 kilometers. Half of the funds – 12.2 billion rubles – are allocated to municipalities. All municipalities, except Chelyabinsk and Magnitogorsk, which represent the cores of agglomerations and require separate decisions, received a double subsidy compared to last year for repairs and overhauls of highways and the road network, emphasized Alexey Nechaev.

The main directions of road work in Chelyabinsk are focused on intra-block passages and roads that connect main highways. They were chosen due to the fact that many complaints and appeals to the governor are received from citizens. Active road construction is planned in residential areas, for example, on Komsomolsky Prospekt, 250 Let Chelyabinsk Street. The largest road objects of the current year are the Brodokalmaksky tract (guest route from the airport), the Trinity tract (exit to the south of the region, connection with federal highways).

– The city will make a number of decisions on courtyards, this list will be compiled later. The social blocks that we are closing this year are road repairs near medical institutions, for example, the emergency hospital on Pobedy Avenue,” said Alexey Nechaev.

The minister noted that the total volume of road work planned in Chelyabinsk this season is 1 million 100 thousand square meters. Last year the figure was comparable – about one million square meters.
