On April 26 at 9:00 a briefing by the regional governor Alexander Avdeev began in the government building of the Vladimir region.
During the event, the head of the region announced the construction of a Leroy Merlin store in Vladimir. According to the head of the region, at the moment the situation with the construction of the store is very precarious, since at the moment they cannot decide when the facility will be built. So it is still unknown when construction will be completed.
Construction began in 2022 and has progressed at a fairly rapid pace. Already in October 2022, the contractor completed the installation of the frame and cladding of the facades, and the total area of the future store was expected to be more than 8 hectares.
The store was supposed to open in the spring of 2023, but construction was frozen until the fall, presumably due to economic problems.
Earlier, Vladimir residents were told whether Leroy Merlin would be opened in the city. On January 12, a press conference was held by the First Deputy Governor of the Vladimir Region, Alexander Remiga. Communication with media representatives was devoted to preliminary economic results for 2023 and plans for the development of the region’s economy in the near future. During communication with representatives of the press, the question was raised about the construction of a Leroy Merlin hypermarket in the Vladimir region, the construction of which began in 2022.
At a press conference, First Deputy Governor Alexander Remiga answered the question whether a hypermarket would still be built in the city:
“The question is open” – the deputy governor of the Vladimir region said briefly and without clarification.
Later it became known that Leroy Merlin stores would appear under a new name. The legal name of the Russian structure “Leroy Merlin Vostok” was replaced by “Le Monlid”. A new Monlid trademark has appeared. At the same time, the company emphasized that the renaming of the organization was carried out as part of the transfer of management of Russian business to local management.
