The court intervened in the story of regular power outages in the Chelyabinsk village / April 26, 2024 | Chelyabinsk, News of the day 04/26/24

The court ordered the Chelyabinsk municipal unitary enterprise to provide the village with normal power supply.

As RIA Novy Den was informed by the press service of the Chelyabinsk Region Prosecutor’s Office, representatives of the supervisory agency went to court after numerous appeals from residents of the village of Kashtak.

Throughout 2023, there were repeated power outages, including due to technical deterioration of the networks. It turned out that the power supply to residential buildings and social facilities located in the village was organized through a single source – a cable line with a length of 5 thousand 344 meters, which was transferred for operation to the Kommet municipal unitary enterprise.

There is currently no alternative source in the village.

Previously, the prosecutor’s office had already sent a proposal to the head of the Kommet municipal unitary enterprise to eliminate violations of the law, but no effective measures were taken to solve the problem. Residents of Kashtak continued to experience regular power outages. Meanwhile, this also affected the supply of water supply and heating.

As a result, the Chelyabinsk prosecutor appealed to the court with a demand to impose on the Kommet municipal unitary enterprise the obligation to provide residents with uninterrupted power supply, carry out major repairs or completely replace the underground cable line in the village.

By the decision of the Sovetsky District Court of Chelyabinsk, the claims of the city prosecutor were satisfied. Currently, MUP “Kommet” is taking measures to implement the court decision.

The restoration of adequate power supply in the village of Kashatak is under control of the city prosecutor’s office.
