In Kurgan, power engineers will overhaul a section of the “South” heating main, laid along Pushkin Street. As URA.RU was told by the press service of the Kurgan Generating Company, the work is necessary to ensure trouble-free operation of the pipeline in the winter. Thanks to the participation of the Governor of the Kurgan Region, Vadim Shumkov, about 300 million rubles will be allocated from the city budget for repairs.

The company reported that this year, for major repairs, hot water in 182 houses in the central part of the city will be turned off for four months. “We ask Kurgan residents to treat this with understanding, because updating the pipeline is vital for further trouble-free heat supply. For our part, we will make every effort to restore the resource supply as soon as possible,” Alexander Pribylev, General Director of KGC PJSC, addressed residents.

Repair of the heating main will take place in two sections at once: on the section from Kirova Street to the administration building and from the blood transfusion station to the KSU building on Proletarskaya Street. The total length of the updated pipeline will be more than two kilometers.

Nine tests were carried out on the Yug heating main in the summer of last year, during which 11 defects were eliminated. In the fall, a serious defect was discovered on the site, to eliminate which it was necessary to stop the heat supply in 107 buildings. This indicates an extremely worn-out condition of the pipeline. “In two years, we have updated eight kilometers of large-diameter pipelines; 854 million rubles were invested in this. But, despite such large-scale overhauls, we are still at the very beginning of the journey, because there are still about 87% of heating mains with a service life of over 30 years,” said Alexander Pribylev, General Director of KGC PJSC.
