New traffic lights will be installed near children’s institutions in Arkhangelsk

As part of the project, not only traffic lights will be installed, but also raised pedestrian crossings, signs and updated markings. There will also be new transitions. Given the increase in the number of cars in the city, the issue of pedestrian safety is becoming increasingly relevant.

If last year 8 crossings were updated, this year their number has increased to 22.

Currently, a search is underway for contractors to carry out work in the summer – before the start of the new school year.

The funds were allocated within the framework of the program, which is part of the presidential national project “Safe and Quality Roads.”

Let us remind you that 710 million rubles will be spent on repairing roads in Arkhangelsk and Severodvinsk. The latter recently identified a contractor who will repair the roads in 2024. The total contract amount is more than 342 million rubles. Let us note that in Pomorie they plan to repair more than 800 kilometers of roads in five years. More than 70 billion rubles will be allocated for these purposes.

Yesterday in Arkhangelsk preparations began for the renovation of Lomonosov Avenue. On the section of Lomonosov Avenue from Karl Marx Street, work is being carried out to lower the manholes of the wells. This must be done before milling. Previously, we wrote that the contract provides for full repairs: in addition to the roadway and sides – updating sidewalks, parking pockets, replacing bus pavilions, installing benches.

At the end of last year, we wrote that seven roads in Arkhangelsk will be repaired by 2024. On the eve of Motorist Day in Arkhangelsk, the results of repair work within the framework of the presidential national project “Safe and Quality Roads” were summed up.
