Astrakhan residents are invited to the anniversary season of the Music on the Grass festival

One of the most beloved street projects by Astrakhan residents, the music festival “Music on the Grass,” held under the auspices of the Astrakhan State Opera and Ballet Theater, is celebrating its tenth anniversary.
The start of the new season will take place on May 4 in Teatralny Park. The opening will coincide with the birthday of the predecessor of AGTOiB, the Astrakhan Musical Theatre, which first opened its doors to spectators on May 4, 1996.
Festival guests will see a retrospective showing of musical numbers from popular operas, operettas and musical comedies performed by soloists of the theater’s opera troupe: Kira Kirilina, Konstantin Sklyarov, Nadezhda Meyer, Sergei Mankovsky, Andrei Puzhalin, Andrei Shitikov and others. The music of Mozart, Verdi, Rossini, Puccini, Bizet, Glinka and Tchaikovsky, Kalman, Lehar, Strauss will delight fans of academic art.
In addition to evening performances, the festival will offer interesting programs throughout the day. Various master classes, creative activities, interactive games and broadcasts will be held in the park from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
A total of six festival days are planned – May 4, 9, 12, 18, 19 and 31.
