The forum was held in the sister city of Orsha.

On April 26, the International Economic Forum “Economic Integration. New opportunities for investment activity.” A delegation from Tver also took an active part in the forum at several plenary sessions. In particular, the deputy head of the Tver administration for urban maintenance and transport, Andrei Gavrilin, presented an online presentation-report on achievements in the fields of economics, industry and tourism.

– The Tver delegation took part in the work of many sections, in particular, the sections of the digital economy and tourism, visited the village of Alexandria – the birthplace of the President of Belarus, and the museum of Hero of the Soviet Union Konstantin Zaslonov. Relations between our cities in the fields of education and culture are developing. We visited school No. 16, where we met the guys from the military-patriotic club “Yastreb” and planted an apple tree as a sign of friendship. In the art gallery named after V.A. Gromyko was presented with letters of gratitude from the Public Chamber of the city of Tver. We believe that the Russian and Belarusian peoples are united by a common history and culture, as well as extensive family ties and warm friendly relations. I would like to express my deep gratitude to the leadership of the Orsha Executive Committee and personally to Sergei Nikolaevich Pats for the hospitable and warm welcome,

Let us recall that on April 27, 2022, an agreement was signed in Belarus that the cities of Tver and Orsha became twin cities. Cooperation between Tver and Orsha began 10 years ago. On April 5, 2012, the cities signed an agreement on the main areas of interaction.

Orsha is a regional center in the Vitebsk region with a population of 120 thousand inhabitants. Over the years of partnership, Tver and Orsha have established contacts in a variety of sectors – from cultural exchanges to economic ties. The twinning agreement will consolidate the work done and expand the horizons of cooperation.
