City authorities reported on the progress of the reconstruction of the tram track on the high-speed tram turnaround ring at VGTZ – by this time, the dismantling of the worn-out rail and sleeper grating was half completed. According to the press service of the mayor’s office, only on this turnaround ring the total length of the roadway is about a kilometer in single-track terms.

The next stage will be the creation of a new sand-soil cushion and ballast prism. Workers will then lay new sleepers and a modern rail bed, the installation of which will use aluminothermic welding technology to create a seamless track. More than 20 workers work at the site every day, and four units of special equipment are used.

– To ensure the operation of the high-speed tram within the boundaries familiar to citizens in the area of ​​​​the street. Shurukhin – 60 meters from the entrance to the ring – specialists installed a switch and a stopping platform from which passengers can temporarily board and disembark. The approaches to the platform are equipped with paved sidewalks, the city administration clarified.

Also this year, work is planned to reconstruct the roadbed at the intersection of tram tracks in the area of ​​the Monolit Stadium stop, in the tunnel opposite the entrance of the Red October plant and in the section from 39th Gvardeiskaya Street to Zemlyanskogo Street, which is over 4 km in single-path calculus.

The scheme for organizing traffic during the implementation of these works will be communicated additionally.
