Rostov region, April 26, 2024. DON24.RU. Russian newlyweds have begun to draw up prenuptial agreements more often. In 2023, 11% more such agreements (119.4 thousand) were concluded than in 2022. This was reported by Cian with reference to the Federal Notary Chamber.

“In the first quarter of 2024, the number of prenuptial agreements continued to grow. In the first three months of this year, notaries certified almost 23 thousand such documents. This is comparable to the same figure last year,” writes the source.

A prenuptial agreement protects the interests of both spouses and can cover a wide range of issues, such as the family budget, responsibility in case of debt. According to experts, spouses began to turn to notaries more often due to increased legal literacy and a desire to resolve emerging disputes in a civilized manner.

By the way, mortgage repayment payments for large families have been extended for seven years.
