On Friday, April 26, residents of the Samara region joined the historical and educational international event “Victory Dictation”. Countrymen who decided to test their knowledge about the history of the Great Patriotic War were greeted by the governor Dmitry Azarov.

This year, 1,434 points of the “Victory Dictation” campaign have been organized in the Samara region. Their total capacity was about 55 thousand people. According to the organizers, our region has become the leader in the country in the total number of venues for the event.

Governor Dmitry Azarov addressed the residents of Samara who came to write a dictation at the Chaika recreation center in the Krasnoglinsky district of the regional capital. Northern Military District veterans, Youth Army members, cadets, schoolchildren, students, volunteers, residents of all ages gathered here.

— It is very important for me that in the Samara region the “Victory Dictation” action resonates in the souls of people. This once again emphasizes how important it is for us to preserve the memory of the heroic pages of our Motherland. We remember, honor and, of course, bow our heads before the feat of our people. Our country paid with millions of lives for the Victory over Nazism. And we will not give this Victory to anyone,” said Dmitry Azarov. “I am very glad that the “Victory Dictation” campaign is gaining more and more momentum – it is taking place throughout our country and far beyond its borders, despite all the sanctions, restrictions and intrigues that the governments of unfriendly states are trying to invent against our country. Our holy action is actually taking place all over the world.

The governor recalled that the “Victory Dictation” campaign is aimed at ensuring that our country never forgets about the heroic, glorious and tragic events in the history of the Motherland.

“I would like to especially thank our veterans who pass on this living memory of the exploits of those years to the younger generation, the Youth Army members, and cadets,” said Dmitry Azarov. — In terms of the number of Youth Army members, the Samara region is the leader in the Russian Federation. We pay great attention to patriotic education. I think this is largely why today our heroic defenders of the Fatherland, following the behests of their great-grandfathers and grandfathers, also defend it on the firing lines with honor and dignity, with pride and true love for their Motherland.

The governor added that almost 80 years ago our country defeated Nazism, ridding the world of the most inhuman ideology in the history of civilization, and today Russia is again fighting evil.

“Unfortunately, the ideas of Nazism have again sprouted at the very borders of our Motherland. This was condoned by those forces that want to plunge the world into chaos, create discord, and start a war,” said Dmitry Azarov. “We couldn’t, having betrayed the feat of our ancestors, pretend that nothing was happening.” This is not about our people. We came to the aid of the heroic people of Donbass, we are fighting there today on the territory of Donbass, Zaporozhye, Kherson region, defending peace. We help restore peaceful life there. Protecting those who turned to us for help, our compatriots, Russia once again assumed a world mission – to resist Nazism, this evil of humanity.

The governor noted that today residents of the Samara region and the whole country carry in their hearts the grateful memory of the fallen heroes of the Great Patriotic War and honor the veterans who are nearby today. On the eve of the holy Victory Day, our region will again show special care, love and respect for the heroes.

“Today we will again and again remember the heroes-defenders of today. And those who are now in service, and those who fulfilled their duty to the Motherland, returned here, to the Samara region, to continue to forge Victory here in the rear. Let us also remember the fallen heroes who remained faithful to their homeland, their military and civic duty to the end, noted Dmitry Azarov.

The governor thanked all his fellow countrymen for their activity and participation in the “Victory Dictation” event.

“There are winners in this action, but no losers,” said Dmitry Azarov. – Each of you is a winner, the blood of winners flows in your veins. Today we again feel the unity among our people, without which we never won. Only in this way, united, standing shoulder to shoulder, have we always achieved Victory. So it was and so it will be. The enemy will be defeated, Victory will be ours!

Together with Dmitry Azarov, a veteran of the Northern Military District addressed the participants of the action Sergey Kalmykov.

— Thank you for the opportunity to participate in such a proper and important event as the “Victory Dictation.” This is the memory of our heroes and the feat they accomplished,” said the defender of the Fatherland. “This is a memory that will glorify our people and will not allow Nazism to continue to revive. Such actions are very important for all of us, especially for young people. You are the future of our country.

This year, the dictation assignments are dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad, the entry of Soviet troops onto the borders of the USSR (one of the key stages of the liberation mission of the Red Army), the anniversaries of front-line writers, as well as other memorable dates. “Victory Dictation” will be written in 60 countries, the questions have been translated into 8 languages. The Victory Museum on Poklonnaya Hill in Moscow has traditionally become the central venue for the event.
