Some boiler houses require modernization and reconstruction.
On April 26, Minister of Tariff Regulation of the Voronezh Region Lyudmila Shelyakina answered questions live. In particular, she explained why the tariff for thermal energy may be different in neighboring houses. The costs of maintaining the boiler room play a big role here.
According to Shelyakina, everything depends on the boiler room from which the house is heated. What condition is it in, when was it built and how old is the heating main that serves the facility.
“If a rooftop boiler room is used, which has just been built in a house, naturally there is no loss of thermal energy, the consumer immediately receives thermal energy. But after some period, large capital costs will be required for the boiler room. For example, people are now asking why Quadra has such a high tariff. Because about 88 of their boiler houses are over 30 years old. Naturally, they require more expensive repairs, restoration, and updating of heating equipment,” – Shelyakina explains.
