Barnaul resident Vasily Glotov will hold the Grand Tour as part of the Russia 25 team

The Russian national hockey team will spend the upcoming May holidays in working mode. The Russia 25 team, led by Roman Rotenberg, will go on the so-called Grand Tour, during which they will play in three countries and four cities.

On April 30, the team will fly to Astana, where they will play two matches as part of the Qazaqstan Hockey Open tournament – on May 2, the Russian team will play with Kazakhstan, and on May 4, with Belarus.

After the tournament in Kazakhstan, the Grand Tour will move to Russia: May 6 – in Omsk, May 9 – in Tula. Our team will play both matches against Belarus. It should be noted that the FHR is trying to popularize hockey through national team games in different regions. The fact that Russia will play not in the centers – St. Petersburg and Moscow, but in Omsk and Tula – is good. And on May 11 there will be a match with the Belarusian national team in Minsk.

The Russian Hockey Federation has determined the composition in which the Russia 25 team will play these games.

The team also included striker Vasily Glotov, our fellow countryman. Vasily was born on September 4, 1997 in Barnaul, began playing hockey at the age of 4 in the Barnaul club “Rubin”. Then there was a hockey school and several Moscow clubs, a trip to America and playing in the lower North American leagues, then a return to Russia, to the SKA system from St. Petersburg, with a business trip to Sochi in the 2020/21 season for two years.

Last KHL season, Vasily played 70 games for SKA (10 of them in the playoffs), in which he scored 50 points (27+23).

The President of the Russian Hockey Federation, three-time Olympic champion Vladislav Tretyak, who celebrated his 72nd birthday on April 25, commented on the composition of the national team on the TNT television channel.

– In the Russia 25 team you will see players who have shown themselves well in the last couple of seasons. Both young stars and experienced hockey players. Nikishin, Safonov, Tolchinsky, Glotov, Michkov, Sharipzyanov – we have a good lineup. This will be a great hockey festival that everyone is looking forward to. I’m sure the fans will enjoy it.”Tretyak said on the air of the TNT morning program.
