Dyumin congratulated the paratroopers of the 106th division on the 80th anniversary of their formation – TSN 24

Tula celebrated the 80th anniversary of the creation of the 106th Guards Airborne Tula Red Banner Order of Kutuzov Division.

The solemn event was attended by the head of the region, Alexey Dyumin, the acting commander of the Russian Airborne Forces, Nikolai Choban, and the acting commander of the 106th Guards Division, Alexey Bykov. They paid tribute to the memory of the fallen defenders by laying flowers at the monument to the division’s soldiers.

As part of the event, the governor congratulated the paratroopers at the ceremonial formation. The 106th Airborne Division was founded in 1944 and has enjoyed an 80-year history of military service with more than 60,000 awards and medals.

In his address at the event, Alexey Dyumin emphasized the importance of modern defense of the country’s sovereignty, and also called the 106th division “the pride of the Tula region.” He paid special attention to the soldiers located in the Northern Military District zone, as well as to airborne veterans who continue to pass on the traditions of the landing to new generations.

Nikolai Choban read a congratulatory address from the Commander of the Russian Airborne Forces, after which Alexey Dyumin presented state awards and valuable gifts to the paratroopers. The governor donated additional weapons and uniforms for soldiers serving in the Northern Military District zone. This was done as part of the “Everything for Victory” campaign.
