Late at night on April 26, the police of the Dubovsky district of the Volgograd region received an alarming call: on Delegatskaya Street in the regional center the house of a 41-year-old local resident had caught fire. During the inspection of the scene, police came to the conclusion that there was a deliberate arson.

– As a result of operational search activities, a suspect in the arson was identified and detained. He turned out to be the victim’s 40-year-old ex-husband. The man confessed to his crime and explained that he set fire to the house out of jealousy, the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the region told Volganet.net.

A criminal case has been opened against the arsonist: for his crime, the attacker faces up to 5 years in prison.
