A criminal case has been opened in Arkhangelsk for violating safety rules during construction work, which negligently resulted in the death of a person.

On April 25, 2024, while working on the construction of an apartment building in Arkhangelsk, a 28-year-old worker fell to the ground from a height of the sixth floor.

The man died from his injuries at the scene.

According to the press service of the regional investigative committee, based on this fact, the investigative bodies of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Arkhangelsk Region and the Nenets Autonomous Okrug opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 216 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Violation of safety rules during construction work, resulting in the death of a person through negligence.”

Currently, investigative actions are being carried out to establish all the circumstances of the incident. Expertise has been ordered and evidence is being collected.

As the news agency “Echo of the North” learned, we are talking about construction on Voronin Street. There is no commercial construction on this street at the moment; social housing is being built there.
