Siberian reporter – Governor Andrei Travnikov, together with residents of the region, wrote the “Victory Dictation”

“The Victory Dictation as a whole is quite an interesting event, which allows you to feel the tension of the moment and the spirit of competition, and helps to awaken important memories of the facts of the past. I don’t prepare specifically, but every year, in the spring, on the eve of Victory Day, I review and reread war films and books. And this also made it possible to answer some questions,” the head of the region emphasized.

Regional coordinator of the federal party project “Historical Memory”, director of the Novosibirsk State Art Museum Ekaterina Boldyreva noted that “Victory Dictation” is dedicated not only to testing the level of knowledge about the history of the Great Patriotic War, but it also helps to unite all residents of Russia. “Our well-being largely depends on how united we are and how much we respect our historical roots. Today, along with us, throughout the Novosibirsk region, schoolchildren, students, cadets, officers, civil servants, businessmen and many others write dictation. More than 600 sites were organized in our region. Namely, in schools, universities, cultural institutions, libraries, museums, the Military Hospital of the National Guard troops, etc.,” she said.

In 2024, “Victory Dictation” was written on more than 26 thousand sites. Almost 200 of them are in 58 countries. The action was supported by nine airlines and 11 airports. The dictation was held at five railway stations and sites organized by Russian Post. This year’s assignments were dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad, the entry of Soviet troops onto the borders of the USSR (one of the key stages of the liberation mission of the Red Army), the anniversaries of front-line writers, as well as other memorable dates.

In Novosibirsk, about 300 people wrote the “Victory Dictation” at the Siberian Sambo Academy. Athletes of the regional Sambo Federation, parents, coaches and teachers of sports schools, participants of the Student and School Sambo League, deputies of United Russia and activists of the party project “Za Sambo” took part in the action.

The main goal of international historical dictation is to attract the general public to study the events of the Great Patriotic War, preserve the historical memory of them, and patriotic education of youth. The dictation could be written “online” or using one of thousands of platforms.

The first “Victory Dictation” was held on May 7, 2019 in connection with the celebration of the 74th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. More than 150 thousand people aged from 9 to 90 took part in it. After this, it was decided to hold it annually.
