26 April young readers of the cultural programs department became participants educational program “The Slavic soul is strong through kinship.”
The librarian introduced the children to the history and traditions of holidays dedicated to the family: International Family Day, which is celebrated on May 15, and the All-Russian Day of Family, Love and Fidelity, which is celebrated in our country on July 8.
The children learned the legend of Peter and Fevronia of Murom and the history of the monument erected in honor of these saints in Tambov. Together with the librarian, the program participants remembered proverbs and sayings about family, learned how a family coat of arms, family tree and family album are created, and talked about their family traditions.
With great interest, young readers watched the cartoon “The Tale of Peter and Fevronia,” and at the end of the meeting they all sang the song “My Family” together.
