The park season starts in Ulyanovsk on May 1. To prevent insects from disturbing the residents’ recreation, the park administration began treating its territories.
Ulyanovsk parks are being actively spruced up for the upcoming weekend. The trash has already been removed. It’s time to say goodbye to ticks. Due to the early arrival of heat, the number of harmful insects has also increased. According to Rospotrebnadzor, about 50 cases of tick bites have been recorded in the region. Therefore, exterminators will have to treat parks and public spaces. The Vladimirsky Garden and Family parks are already ready to safely welcome guests.
Danil VRAZHKIN – REPRESENTATIVE OF THE DIRECTORATE OF PARKS OF THE CITY OF ULYANOVSK:
“Today, two parks are being processed – “Family” and “Vladimirsky Garden”. The area is 8 hectares. During the treatment, the parks are closed completely until it’s over and we won’t let them in for about an hour after that.”
According to sanitary rules, areas are cleaned twice a year – before the start and at the end of the season. The parks are closed during processing. Insects are poisoned with a modern certified product. It is harmless to people, but kills ticks outright.

“Before carrying out treatments, areas must be surveyed in order to determine the infestation of ticks. After treatment, a control is carried out 3-5 days to monitor the effectiveness of the treatment.”
Specialists will treat parks, squares, and public spaces – the area is about 900 hectares.
